She “Soared” into her next great adventure.
On April 29, 2009, at the age of 70, after 6 - 1/2 years of total physical disability,
Sophia passed back into the Great Spirit’s arms.
In the words of Sophia’s beloved author Nikos Kazantakis, she calls out to us and offers this challenge:
“Do not die that we may not die,” the dead cry out within you. “There was so much we did not have time to enjoy and experience; be in time and enjoy what you can. . . Finish our work! Finish our work! All day and all night we come and go through your body, and we cry out. No, we have not gone, we have not detached ourselves from you, we have not descended into the earth. Deep in your entrails we continue the struggle. Deliver us!”
“Be our living legacy of love and wisdom, compassion, and genius! Throw your own personal light on the work we left undone, continue our work, and pass on to your sons and daughters (your family and friends) the great mandate to surpass you!”
